I absolutely cannot thank Matthew and the team enough. The day was absolutely perfect and we couldn't have asked for anything more on the day! Matthew was amazing and completely put me at ease on the morning and throughout the day! It was so refreshing to be able to relax and not have to worry about anything, he had it all in hand!

We had an issue with our wedding cake (buttercream and heat do not go well together) and Matthew came up with a perfect solution, dealt with everything behind the scenes and we did a slight timeline rearrange to ensure the cake held up!

Thank you so much for everything, the day was just perfect!

Where do I start! Lorna was so professional from start to finish nothing was to much trouble she made me feel so calm and I knew everything was going to be perfect and it was . The food was outstanding and plenty of it which you don’t normally get at weddings ,the rooms were all very spacious and clean any faults I did find were rectified there and then with no trouble at all .The team on the day did not stop ! The whole day worked like clockwork and was more than I ever imagined. Swynford Manor is the most beautiful venue all my guests loved it and knew exactly why we traveled 2 hours to this venue . Glimpses of Swynford Manor

We grilled our Head Chef Jamie (no pun intended) for 5 minutes of his time and asked him some important questions that we think you need to know the answers to... 1. If you were to get married at Swynford Manor what starter, main & dessert would you pick? I would have to go with the scallops and pork belly with Dashi and apple textures as it’s a take on surf and turf and a fusion of Asian and English flavours, followed by the trio of lamb as its 3 different cuts of the lamb with a smoky charred lettuce followed by the hot dough nut balls as its with custard and strawberry gel a definite crowd pleaser. 2. What is your favourite thing about working at Swynford Manor? The team is amazing with so many different personalities all complementing each other which helps to produce great food and service. Happy staff means happy guests. I'm fortunate enough to do my hobby as my job. also having the freedom to produce my own food so my personality is definitely delivered on the plate. 3. What evening food would you choose? Steamed bao buns as this is totally different and has a wow factor. During lock down I worked across Cambridge on the food trucks and learned all the different styles of street food. This was by far my favourite and have recreated it on the Swynford menu. 4. What is the dish more people should consider for their wedding day? Medium rare butter poached bavette steak, it is slow cooked in butter at 60 degrees and just melts in the mouth. I think couples worry too much about their guests when picking their menu and tend to settle for chicken. There is something for everyone on the menu. 5. What is the biggest thing you have achieved as a chef? Master Chef the professionals back in 2017 was a big milestone. It was definitely on the bucket list and pushed me out of my comfort zone. This also helped in fundraising for local charities across Cambridge by creating pop up events in different venues and donating all the food profits to charities. Q&A with Zach & Ben who got married here at Swynford Manor back in January! -How long were you engaged for? 4 and a half months - we moved quickly! -What made you choose your wedding date? We knew we wanted a winter wedding and January is usually a dull month so we opted for something special to blow away those blues! -How Was your Food Experience? The food was amazing, every dish was full of flavour and our guests all complimented everything from the canapés to the wedding breakfast and the evening food. -Favourite Dish? The beef! -What were your wedding guest numbers? 70 day guests and 120 in the evening. -What made you choose Swynford Manor for your day? The feel of the venue - it was exactly what we were looking for, grand but modern, sleek and sophisticated and the black and white theme throughout added the a perfect touch! -What was your favourite supplier? Candyfloss Creations - Grace done all of our stationary including our glasses wall seating plan which our guests absolutely loved! -What was the best part of your wedding day? Everything was perfect but the speeches were amazing, it was so lovely to sit back and see the overwhelming love in the room with all of our nearest and dearest. -Would you do anything differently if you could do it again? Try to slow down time - it went so fast! -If you could give any advice to newly engaged couples what would it be? You will know if it’s the venue from the feel you get when you arrive, don’t overthink it and go with your gut! Once this is chosen, follow the venues recommendations on trusted suppliers, these people know your venue and will be the key to making your day the very best it can be so you can relax and focus on the most important thing - having the best day of your life!
