The Perfect Venue

With an early-March wedding date in mind, Rose and Dave spent a day looking at possible venues and fell in love with Swynford Manor straight away.

“From the moment we arrived, I knew it was everything I have ever wanted and more. We loved the light, relaxed feel of the Garden Room and all the finer details including the gorgeous baths in each bedroom.”

Design and Décor

The happy couple decided on a vintage style monochrome theme – the perfect choice for Swynford Manor.

Deep red rose petals were used to line the ceremony aisle and featured in the table centrepieces alongside elegant candles. Adding a little glamour to the look, mirrors were used for a welcome sign and table plan.

“I also created an area for my mum who sadly passed away a few years ago. I placed a hat that she got for my sister’s wedding along with a poem, a candle and roses facing the top table.”

Bridal Style

The beautiful bride chose ‘Palpito’ from St Patrick, a classic mermaid design with draped V-neck.

“I loved it so much and it was so comfortable. I had it altered, removing the jewellery detail from the back and adding buttons instead.”

She completed the look with pretty jewellery and shoes from Asos.

Meanwhile, Dave looked the part in black tie from Wilvorst.

“It was a white and black dinner jacket. When Dave saw it, he loved how dapper it looked. We added black buttons to finish it off.”

Finally, Rose’s bridesmaids were stunning in black floor length gowns.

Order of the Day

Following their wonderful ceremony in The Study, drinks and canapés were served, with candy floss toppers on each glass!

A barbecue style dinner was a great choice for this relaxed occasion, with burgers proving to be very popular. And, as an alternative to the traditional cake, the newlyweds served donuts in personalised ‘midnight snack’ bags.

As day turned to evening, pizza and fish goujon ciabattas delighted the guests and the dance floor filled.

“We didn’t have a first dance. Instead, we introduced the evening with my mum’s favourite songs. It was more than perfect and I had a very special moment with my dad, sister, best friends and some of my mum’s friends.”

Advice From The Bride

“Write everything down! From the start, write why you are doing this along with your expectations, your thoughts and your inspiration. When you get stressed or feel anything is getting too much, read through what you originally wrote down, feel the excitement again and breathe!”

Rose’s Favourite Moment

“I’ll never forget walking down the aisle with my dad, holding Archie (Dave’s son’s) hand and seeing Dave’s face.”
