Unique outdoor wedding venues

With 7 acres of glorious green grounds and paddocks, as well as a gorgeous elevated terrace and flower-filled gardens, Swynford Manor is the perfect place to make your dream of an outdoor wedding come true. And we’ve got lots of ideas for how to make your al fresco celebration extra special at our outside wedding venue

The perfect frame

Our pretty pergola is fully licensed for civil ceremonies and is a picturesque frame for your al fresco nuptials. It looks great as it is, but if you’d like to, you can introduce a pretty arch to say your vows under and decorate it to reflect your wedding theme. Why not lace flowers through it, or add pastel-coloured ribbons? For something a little more personal, ask friends and family to write heartfelt messages on gift tags and take the time to read them and tie them to the pergola with your partner before everyone arrives.

Nature’s aisle

Embrace the unrivalled countryside setting by giving your outdoor ceremony setup an organic twist. Create an aisle of beautiful blooms and handpicked petals, perhaps in the same shade as your dress, and then frame the pergola with elegant olive trees in pots. Alternatively, illuminate the way with old fashioned lanterns, and tangle the trees in the gardens with fairy lights.

Flowers for everyone

In keeping with your romantic garden setting, why not leave a single rose on the seat of each chair for your guests to take away with them? It’s a sweet token and will provide the prettiest of props for group photographs later. You could also attach little cones full of confetti to all of the chairs, so your friends and family can dig in and shower you as you walk past as man and wife.

Music is in the air

Just because you’re outside doesn’t mean you should forget about music. Hire a string quartet to play the classic tune as you glide down the aisle, or rope in a talented friend to sing your favourite song. There’s no need to fuss over plug sockets and power, and it’ll give your ceremony a romantic, rustic feel.

Thoughtful touches

If it’s going to be a particularly balmy day, why not serve fresh lemonade and ice cream to your guests after your ceremony? Or, if you’re planning an outdoor wedding in the cooler months, fill wicker baskets with snuggly blankets that can be thrown over chilly shoulders while you say your vows.
